The atob function will decode a baseencoded string into a new string with a character for each byte of the binary data. Each character's code point charCode will be the value of the byte. We can create an array of byte values by applying this using the.
You can convert this array of byte values into a real typed byte array by passing it to the Uint8Array constructor. This in turn can be converted to a Blob by wrapping it in an array and passing it to the Blob constructor. The code above works.
However the performance can be improved a little by processing the byteCharacters in smaller slices, rather than all at once. In my rough testing bytes seems to be a good slice size. This gives us the following function. Here is a more minimal method without any dependencies or libraries. It requires the new fetch API. Can I use it? I did a simple performance test towards Jeremy's ES6 sync version. The sync version will block UI for a while. I noticed, that Internet Explorer 11 gets incredibly slow when slicing the data like jeremy suggested.
This is true for Chrome, but IE seems to have a problem when passing the sliced data to the Blob-Constructor.
On my machine, passing 5 MB of data makes IE crash and memory consumption is going through the roof. Chrome creates the blob in no time.

It's an inlined image pngencoded in base It can make a page faster: the browser doesn't have to query the server for the image data separately, saving a round trip. It can also make it slower if abused: these resources are not cached, so the bytes are included in each page load.data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQABAA
The long encrypted link is the actual image, i. See RFC for details. Side note: I have had trouble getting larger base64 images to render on IE8. I believe IE8 has a 32K limit that can be problematic for larger files.
See this other StackOverflow thread for details. That is, you are referencing an image, but instead of providing an external url, the png image data is in the url itself, embedded in the style sheet.

I believe if used in a.Is there an easy way to decode and convert these BASEencoded data back into an image and save them on the file system? Base64 encoding schemes are commonly used when there is a need to encode binary data that needs be stored and transferred over media that are designed to deal with textual data.
At the end of this tip, there is a link to download the SSDT solution and the database used in this tip. We have table [dbo]. This table is populated with 2 sample rows.
The type of the image can be determined by the first 4 letters in the Base64 content. This query will be subsequently used as a source input in SSDT. The connection manager name in this solution is ImageDB. Essentially, this query returns 2 columns as described in the table below. Click on the Columns page.
This will reflect the 2 columns output from the query, PathAndFileName and img column. This is the final step to execute the package or the [Data Flow Task].
We will execute the [Data Flow Task] as below. Go to the path specified in the query. It removes a lot of complexity for developers and requires only a few parameter configurations to get it to work.

My suspect is of course actual base64 data, otherwise it looks good to me. See this fiddle where similar scheme is working. You may try specifying char set. You can try this base64 decoder to see if your base64 data is correct or not.
First convert your image to Base64 encode to Base You can do it online or with a PHP script. You have to just put it in the src of the image and define there as it is in base64 encoded form. This is like encoding any other string in a URI.

I am just pointing out that there is no apparent issue in what you are doing except perhaps actual base64 data.
Use the given decoder and save decoded binary data as an jpeg file and try to open it. If it does not work then there is an issue in your base64 encoding. Which intern nullifies the jpeg. Hemant Metalia Hemant Metalia Note : Data URLs are treated as unique opaque origins by modern browsers, rather than inheriting the origin of the settings object responsible for the navigation.
Data URLs are composed of four parts: a prefix data:a MIME type indicating the type of data, an optional base64 token if non-textual, and the data itself:. If the data is textual, you can simply embed the text using the appropriate entities or escapes based on the enclosing document's type. Otherwise, you can specify base64 to embed baseencoded binary data.
You can find more info on MIME types here and here. Base64 is a group of binary-to-text encoding schemes that represent binary data in an ASCII string format by translating it into a radix representation. Base64 encoding of a file or string on Linux and Mac OS X systems can be achieved using the command-line base64 or, as an alternative, the uuencode utility with -m argument. Encoding on Windows can be done through powershell or some dedicated tool. It can even be done via bash base64 utility see section Encoding on a Unix system if WSL is activated.

Convert SQL Server Base64 Encoded Text to Images
For this article I have created a simple table with the following structure. Following three records are inserted in the table with three images stored in it. Note : The backup file of the database is present in the attached sample. The Model class has following properties. You will need to import the following namespaces. The Controller consists of two Action methods. Action method for handling GET operation. Inside this Action method, the records from the database table are fetched using the collection of ImageModel class and it is returned to the View for populating the DropDownList.
Action method for handling POST operation. Inside this Action method, the records from the database table are fetched using the collection of ImageModel class and using the Find method and the Lambda expression, the Image to be displayed is determined. It is a form of file literal or here document. This technique allows normally separate elements such as images and style sheets to be fetched in a single Hypertext Transfer Protocol HTTP request, which may be more efficient than multiple HTTP requests, and used by several browser extensions to package images as well as other multimedia contents in a single HTML file for page saving.
A data URI consists of:. The minimal data URI is data:,consisting of the scheme, no media-type, and zero-length data. Thus, within the overall URI syntax, a data URI consists of a scheme and a pathwith no authority part, query stringor fragment.
The optional media typethe optional base64 indicator, and the data are all parts of the URI path. An HTML fragment embedding a picture of a small red dot:. In this example, the lines are broken for formatting purposes. This means that whitespace characters are not permitted in data URIs.
So the data URI above would be processed ignoring the linefeeds, giving the correct result. These would be removed by the CSS stylesheet processor, and the data URI would be reconstituted without whitespace, making it correct, since whitespace is not allowed within the data component of a data: URI.
It can also be used to get around cross-site scripting XSS restrictions, embedding the attack payload fully inside the address bar, and hosted via URL shortening services rather than needing a full website that is controlled by a third party.
